In many Fallopian tube blockage infertility cases, chance of both sides of tube blocked is very rare. Most of time, one side of Fallopian tubes is blocked. How to treat the condition depends on the age, severity of tube blockage. Following is my sharing of treatment on blocked Fallopian tube.
Patient A in her thirties with over one year ttc:
HSG test,
Endometrium filled with no mass and endometrial scarring. The left tube fills immediately with free spill. The right tube is unsuccessfully visualized. Patient did had appendicitis 10 years ago. And this seems to be the cause of blockage on the right tube. The right Fallopian tube does not opacify, consistent with right tube occlusion.
This patient has been treated with IUI with first attempt cancelled due to the dominant right side follicle growth. The IUI proceeds anyway even the second trial has 20mm follicles in her right side ovary. The 2 weeks test is negative.
There are two approaches to treat this patient according to acupuncture and Chinese medicine. One is the clear up the blockage with herbs and acupuncture plus her adjustment of diet and exercise. The second approach is the enhancing the left side ovary to produce dominant follicles.
Considering the left side has follicles (15mm and below), left Fallopian free spill and the right tube occlusion is severe, I choose the second option as major effort. Acupuncture local left side meridian points to help follicles growth. In the same time, patient can take herbs to help blood circulation to improve the internal conditions.
